Crash at title screen
I don't know if this happens to others or not. But i've gotten it several times. I play eden psobb like normal, except when I log off, and it goes to the title screen, it crashes. Not like its much of a big deal, but i don't like seeing pso crash at all. Gives me bad thoughts of DESTRUCTION of my account and the game. (derplol)
Does anybody know what this is?

Re: Crash at title screen
Yeah that sounds a lot like you not cleaning your registry. Suggestions: Clean your registry. Restart your computer.
Or if you recently installed any title screen skins please yell at the creator of the skin you installed.

Re: Crash at title screen
I just installed and I'm having this same issue.. Well, it's actually happening before I get to the SEGA/Sonic Team screen. x.x I'm using Windows 7 x64, and I'm using the separately downloaded .exes

Re: Crash at title screen
I'm assuming you stuck the downloaded exes in the right folder, replacing the old ones?

Re: Crash at title screen
Yes, I did. :x
Ach.. I forgot to mention, The VERY first time I loaded it up, it worked fine, I got to the patch server and let it do its stuff. hit enter to exit from it, then never even made it to the SEGA/Sonic Team Screen after that.

Re: Crash at title screen
I am having the same issue as Hazel.
Downloaded the client from the first link. Downloaded the zip file with the exes in it. Installed client, copied exes over the top of the old ones.
Was able to run online.exe once, connected to server, downloaded a heap of patches. Hit enter to exit game.
Tried to run the game again, and game would sit on the black screen with blue 'loading' icon down bottom right for a few seconds, then give the standard Windows Vista error of "PsoBB.exe has stopped working", with the options of either looking for a solution online or closing the program. Tried a few more times - no dice. The game freezes in the same place every time.
I copied the three exes from the zip into the directory again at this point, and ran the online.exe again. I was able to connect. This time the game downloaded one file - unitxt_j.prs and got me to again hit Enter to exit.
I then ran online.exe again, and the game froze in the same place as before.
So I copied the exes again, figuring I must have all the patches now... but it simply downloaded the unitxt_j.prs again...
So I'm stuck now.

Re: Crash at title screen
Ok so minor update:
It seems that the crash is just random. Sometimes it crashes, sometimes it doesn't.
However, every time it does work, the server still gets me to download unitxt_j.prs (a 74066 byte file). Even if I start the game up immediately, it does it again. I've checked the file in the data dir and it's the right size, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I've tried using the unitxt_j.prs
The server, when I log in, does mention that I should select online.exe instead of psobb.exe to avoid an infinite patch loop.
Unfortunately, I -am- running online.exe, not psobb.exe so that doesn't really help.
Is there someone out there that -isn't- having this problem, that can upload the latest unitxt_j.prs file from their /data folder so I can try that? Maybe it's failing to download properly for me and not passing the checksum tests or whatever PSOBB does on start.
