Every time I start the game(I downloaded the main file and replaced with the appropriate exe files) I have to "register" my username, and then it goes through the patching process and gives me no other option but to close. I have switched back and forth between trying it with the main exe and the online exe to no avail, can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

You could try re-downloading the game.

I tried that already, was there anything I was already supposed to have installed before hand other than the install reg file?

also, I am using windows 7.

Okay, I was having your problem too. What I did was. I took the file "map_city_on_j.bin" out of my data folder. After a few more relog attempts it let me in.
Tell me if that fixes it. I can only guess it didn't patch right or something.

Hello, bumping instead of making a new post since my issue seems to be almost the same as jesse's.

So, after taking "map_city_on_j.bin" out of the data folder, the game actually patched just fine, but when I opened the game again to play, whenever I try to start the game, the same thing happens: I go to the patching screen and the game never starts. If I go for "Patch Download" instead, I get the message that the patching was already completed.

Tried reinstalling but I'm still having the same problem (the only difference is that I didn't need to take the "map_city_on_j.bin" file out to patch this time). No matter if I use online.exe or PSOBB.exe, it keeps happening.
