Mainly I just do guy = guy name and girl = girl name. XD

Normally I'd just look up names / pick them from a nice book or game.

I'm more of a unisexual person when it comes into names, regardless of gender, so sometimes I pick cute sounding names for both male and female characters. XD

Usually though, I always name my characters based on their clothing and equips... and my native country o;

Well, Karma's pretty much my main character's name, male or female.

With male characters, I think of what they're about (and also use a few names that I like in several places). Some of my Guild Wars characters, for example (who all have Xiryu as their last name thanks to a suggestion from a good friend):

Ralkir Xiryu (dervish, scythe user, originally was assigned this name by Runescape and I really liked it)
Sonic Xiryu (My old name, seemed fitting for an assassin)
Takashi Xiryu (monk, fits the somewhat Japanese stereotype and I totally jacked it from a series whose name I cannot remember to save my life)
Ryntai Xiryu (ranger, trapper/nature-esque person)
Leptio Xiryu (mesmer, show-person... Name taken from Klonoa 2)

On PSO, I have one male character, Armadon. He's a HUcast, and I took his name from Heroes of Newerth.

Guild Wars:
Zarien Xiryu (derp, another sister... Name jacked from the same old friend that gave me the last name for my characters)
Lena Xiryu (Had this name before you, Gab, don't bother... I couldn't really think of a good one at the time.)
Stumbling Swan (har har, joke code name my humorous trombone playing friend gave me)

PSO:
Karma - duh
Reion - Another name taken from my good friend... She made a role playing board and Reion was a rather misleading girl, always coaxing Ralkir into traps.
Leorina - Jacked from Klonoa 2.

So really, with names... A lot of mine are either taken from a game I like not played as much by the community (ie Heroes of Newerth, Klonoa 2), or obtained through stories, suggestions, and jokes.

Why not just call them Talathiel?
For example, ALL my characters are called Zynetic.

If you want a certain ID, use the full dressing room to change your name after you get a name with the ID you want.

think of random stuff, DaWN came from the saying Dusk and Dawn and its also a name,
Female ones:

Ruby
(If girl then your own name)

Unisex ones:
(Cant think of one)
(If hermaphrodite use your own name lol)

Male:
(I have trouble with male names though I am male)

That is more like a list than a guide.

Look around your room for, Jewellery or random stuff,
Xbox 360: Greenlight, light = Jet of light. GreenJet.
Topaz Diamond: Topaz, gem,az = Gemaz. (Not as good but still)
Deodarent: Lynx, random way to spell it =Lynks

Cast special:
HalfCast
Outcast/Outkast.

Random things = random names, tweak em and youve done.

(My new nickname Ilunara came frm power rangers' Solaris night. Solar = Sun, Sun opposite to moon/lunar then added I at begining Ilunar then A = Ilunara)

Yeah, but if you use the full dressing room, you can use that name AND the section ID you want. o.o
Changing the character's name using the dressing room doesn't change the ID.
